Hero Month! Starts Tomorrow!

So, basically I can't wait. Hero Month! Aka The Month of a Billion Assignments. Ugh, I hate school. So, once again, Hero Month will probably be another one of my ideas that turns out to be really sketchily done, because I'm just lazy/assignmentally-challenged. As if that isn't a word, gosh Blogger, cut me some slack!

Annnnnyyway, I will do my best to keep up to date, and post as many heroes up as I can. In between Biology. And HPE. And English. And Maths. And Music. And Block Exams. School - IHY!

Until tomorrow, enjoy this picture!

(I do love pre-Ziggy Stardust Bowie)

TSFIRH: New Albums!

So, I've just downloaded two new albums, and am now closer to finding happiness in the world of indie music. Adding to the original six albums I have, I now have The Postal Service's 'Give Up', and Hot Chip's latest album 'One Life Stand'. I'm rather excited because I quite like Benjamin Gibbard (AMAZING VOICE), and I've never listened to the self-proclaimed 'Geeks of Dance-Pop' before, but I've heard great things. That's all for now. Updates on how the other albums are going soon!

Give Up-The Postal Service

One Life Stand-Hot Chip

Hero Month!

Just letting y'all know, that next month, for the entirety of June, it is Hero Month. Basically everyday, or every few days, I will just upload a new post of someone that is a hero to me, and why they are a hero to me. That's pretty much all to say about that for now. Until then, rictusempra!

Sleepwalker

Parkway Drive are just an amazing band. Plus the fact that they are Australian, makes me love them even more. But I'm not going to tell about why I love them etc. I'm going to tell you that their third album, titled Deep Blue, is being released on the 25th of June, and that they recently released a new single, 'Sleepwalker'.

Sleepwalker is not as heavy as a lot of their other songs, but it is damn catchy, and the near punk-like riffs get stuck in your head, until you just want to listen to it over and over again. So, DOWNLOAD IT RIGHT NOW!

Weekly Playlist Version 4

So, I know it's been a few weeks, but I've been busy (i.e. lazy). But over that that time I actually have been listening to heaps of music, which I'm psyched about. So here goes this weeks playlist:

Mary-Christ-Sonic Youth
Kool Thing-Sonic Youth
My Friend Goo-Sonic Youth
Summer Babe (Winter Version)-Pavement
In the Mouth a Desert-Pavement
New Slang-The Shins
3rd Planet-Modest Mouse
Dark Centre of the Universe-Modest Mouse

The High Road-Broken Bells
Pull Out-Death From Above 1979
Party and Bullshit in the U.S.A.-Red Flag Productions
Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want-She & Him (The Smiths Cover)

As you can see, I'm stepping away from the hardcore aesthetic and moving towards listening to more indie stuff. I'm excited. Yay. Until next week, illehz4reallehz.

The Search for Indie-Rock Happiness

I've decided I will explore the vastly interesting and like totally awesome world of indie music. It's so amazing, and I am saddened at the fact I have barely scratched the surface of it. So, I've been asking friends and the internet alike, for good albums, and they will be played and explored by me. Here are the ones that I've acquired in the last two days, and will be the beginning of what I hope will be another amazing musical adventure. I'm open to recommendations, so don't hold back!

Goo-Sonic Youth

Dirty-Sonic Youth

Slanted and Enchanted-Pavement

Oh, Inverted World-The Shins

The Moon & Antarctica-Modest Mouse

Total Life Forever-Foals

Wish me luck. JR.
